Objectives
EII invites all members across the Network to nominate Early Career Research staff [ECRs] from your institution to attend our 4 day workshop [14-17 August 2006]. The purpose of the workshop is to set in motion an active research network among ECRs as well as with senior researchers in Australia, and to address issues specifically related to ECRs. It is part of EII's mission to assist ECRs to establish meaningful connections within their research community, and to provide opportunities for new and effective research collaborations.Planned activities
- Participants will be scheduled to give a 30 minute presentation about their research interests and current work
- Participation in research collaboration workshops
- Participation in panel-based discussions with leading senior researchers
- Joint Activities with PhD School
Topics
- Impact of RQF on ECRs
- Issues of balancing teaching and research demands
- Applying for research grants
- Establishing national, international and industry links
Eligibility
- Less than or equal to 5 years from official date of award of PhD thesis
- No restriction on research interests
- Both research only and research-teaching ECRs welcome
Funding
EII and member institutions will provide financial support for successful nominees to attend the workshop. This support includes where relevant, return economy airfare, local transport to and from the venue, shared accommodation, catering, and workshop materials.Nomination Form
Program
Program commences with welcome dinner at 7.30pm Sunday 13 August, and all delegates will depart the venue at 9.00am Friday 18 August.Senior Research Mentors
