Network Management Stucture
The EII research network adopts a flexible management structure with minimum overhead, comprising an international Advisory Board and a Steering Committee.
Advisory Board: Internationally renowned experts in the area of ICT research, with considerable experience in strategic R&D leadership, will sit on the 5-member Advisory Board. The responsibility of this Board is to advise on EII's purpose and vision, assess the ongoing performance.
Steering Committee: The 12-member Steering Committee, including the Network Convenor, will initially be chosen from the current core participants who have a proven track record of research management, who cover key research areas within the EII network, and who work from diverse locations around Australia. EII plans to have up to 50% of its Steering Committee membership rotated every two years to guarantee continuity of EII governance, to reflect evolution of the scope and directions of EII, and to promote early-career researchers. This committee will approve EII activities and expenditure, and decisions for network expansion, including setting up taskforces and appointing taskforce leaders.
Administration: In consultation with the Advisory Board and the Steering Committee, the Network Convenor, Prof Xiaofang Zhou, will be responsible for managing the day-to-day network activities. The network will be supported by a manager, Ms Kathleen Williamson.
