Biography:
Dr Kyoji Kawagoe is a professor of Ritsumeikan University, one of the largest private university in Japan. He had worked for NEC Corporation for 20 years before joining the university, where he was engaged in R&D of many advanced information systems, such as CAD systems and multimedia systems.  His research topics include data engineering, information retrievals and multimedia technology. He was a chair of Data Engineering Technical Group of IEICE, Japan, in 2007 and 2008. He was also one of the directors of Database society of Japan, from 2006 to 2008.
