Two postdoc positions Software & Services Engineering, Swinburne
(1)Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Software Engineering (Enterprise Software
Systems Emulation)
The Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies at Swinburne
University of Technology (Melbourne, Australia) is seeking to appoint a
highly motivated and capable postdoctoral research fellow to join its
research team investigating large-scale emulation of enterprise software
systems.
The project is funded by the Australian Research Council and CA Labs. Its
primary objective is to create a software platform that can simultaneously
emulate 10,000s of enterprise software systems according to interaction
protocol, quality and processing requirements. One targeted use of the
platform is to provide environments for testing highly interconnected
software systems in a realistic enterprise setting, achieving quality
assurance to a level that is not currently possible. Key considerations
include the emulation of system interaction, processing, performance,
robustness and scalability in realistic and large-scale settings. The
research involves both the development of new emulation models, techniques
and software tools addressing the above issues, and their use in chosen
application areas such as system testing.
Under supervision, the appointee is expected to carry out research and
development tasks in the project as outlined above and provide certain
project leadership. The appointee is expected to possess strong research
expertise in one or more of the following areas: software/system
architecture, system interoperability, system qualities (performance,
robustness, scalability), system emulation, system simulation, and/or
enterprise software systems.

(2)Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Context-aware Software Systems and
Services
The Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies at Swinburne
University of Technology (Melbourne, Australia) is seeking a highly
motivated and capable postdoctoral research fellow to join its research team
in the area of context-aware software systems and services.
The research team undertakes a number of funded research projects involving
a number of industry and research partners. The projects include both
fundamental research into the understanding, modelling, design and
management of context-aware software systems, and their use and application
in business domains like automotive telematics systems, enterprise
information systems, and other mobile and pervasive systems. Some of the
particular issues for investigation include (social) context modelling,
system variability analysis, adaptive system design, and dynamic context and
system management.
Under supervision, the appointee is expected to carry out research and
development tasks in the general area of context-aware software systems and
services as outline above, participate in one or more of these projects, and
provide certain project leadership. The appointee is expected to possess
strong research expertise in one or more of the following areas: software
architecture, system qualities (such as security, performance and
reliability), service oriented architecture, context-aware/pervasive
systems, vehicle software systems, and enterprise software systems.
APPLICATION: For full position information and to apply (online), go to:
www.swinburne.edu.au/jobs (position number: 28215)
FURTHER INFORMATION: Contact Prof Jun Han on +613 9214 5732 or
